DoorDash serves up an Australian Open first for fans ordering food at Grand Slam Oval

  • Australian Open

Australian Open fans will be able to skip the queues and have food delivered straight to them for the first time under a new multi-year partnership with DoorDash, the tournament’s Official On-Demand Delivery Partner.

Bringing together two of Australia’s most recognised brands, the partnership will elevate how fans experience the AO, combining the tournament’s world-class food and beverage offering with DoorDash’s innovative delivery technology, whether they’re soaking up the atmosphere at Melbourne Park or following every match from home.

DoorDash will take over the Golden Hour Bar on Grand Slam Oval, creating one of the precinct's most sought-after viewing destinations where fans can settle in, stay put and have food delivered directly to them.

In an Australian Open first, fans will be able to order from a selection of food vendors via DoorDash technology, with orders delivered straight to patrons. The exclusive delivery feature allows fans to skip the queues and spend more time immersed in the electric AO atmosphere.

DoorDash will also power the broader food and beverage experience as Presenting Partner of AO on the GO, the tournament's grab-and-go convenience platform, with activations and branding featured across vending machines, carts and fan touchpoints throughout the precinct.

"Food and drink have become a much-anticipated staple of the Australian Open experience. We are making it easier than ever for fans to enjoy the precinct on their own terms,” Tennis Australia’s Chief Commercial Officer Cedric Cornelis said.

“The introduction of DoorDash delivery at Golden Hour Bar on Grand Slam Oval is designed to give fans more choice, more convenience and more time to enjoy the action.”

“The Australian Open brings together world-class tennis and some of Melbourne’s most exciting food, and we’re thrilled to help fans enjoy more of both,” Vice President DoorDash APAC Simon Rossi said.

“At the Golden Hour Bar, we’re bringing delivery into the tournament experience, making it more convenient for fans to enjoy food from across the precinct without leaving the bar.”

Fans across the precinct will experience DoorDash everywhere they look, from on-court virtual signage and LED gates to concourse screens and digital wall animations.

For those tuning in from home, DoorDash will also roll out exclusive Australian Open offers and promotions, making it easier than ever for fans to enjoy their favourite meals without missing a point.
