Day 3 schedule: Aussies by night, doubles get underway

As the first round of men’s and women’s singles continues on Day 3, home favourite Alex de Minaur headlines the night session at Rod Laver Arena when he takes on Dutch big hitter Botic van de Zandschulp.

The night session at RLA continues on an Australian note as Olivia Gadecki meets Veronika Kudermetova. 

Last year's Roland Garros and Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini, and AO 2024 runner-up Daniil Medvedev both get their campaigns under way on the show courts on Day 3. 

Treats in store around the grounds include the much-anticipated meeting between fan favourite Gael Monfils, fresh from his win in Auckland, and serving phenomenon and fellow Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard on Court 3.

Among four all-American match-ups, eighth seed Emma Navarro opens proceedings at RLA as she faces Peyton Stearns, and world No.4 Taylor Fritz gets his AO 2025 underway against Jenson Brooksby. 

Fritz and Brooksby take to John Cain Arena ahead of compatriots Madison Keys and Ann Li, who headline the twilight session.

On the first day of doubles, highlights include 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva and partner Diana Shnaider, both fresh from first round singles wins, who face Angelica Moratelli and Katarzyna Piter on Court 12.
