AO StartUps spotlight: Oho

An award-winning screening technology will be piloted at AO 2025 before an expanded rollout to Tennis Australia’s year-round programs across the country.

Oho is Australia's first automation technology solution for initial and ‘always on’ screening in sport, care and community. It has been specifically designed to be the smartest, fastest, and most secure way to continuously screen, prevent compliance breaches, and strengthen safeguarding.

“We are incredibly proud to stand behind this iconic event and support tennis at every level across Australia,” said OHO Executive Director and Co-Founder Claire Rogers.

“With a responsibility for so many children and young people, the Australian Open and Tennis Australia will be equipped with Oho's benchmark safeguarding system for the next five years. Together we are working to protect Australia’s elite athletes and 600,000 kids playing tennis across Australia.”

Coaches, officials, athlete services and event management teams will all be covered by Oho’s accreditation screening and ongoing verification capability.

“We are committed to making sure that everyone involved with delivering tennis in Australia, from club administrators, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents and participants, understand the important responsibilities they have in relation to building an environment that is both child-safe and child-friendly,” said Tennis Australia Director of Integrity & Compliance Daniel Stuk.

“Oho’s screening platform and their continuous and ongoing screening service helps ensure that only suitable and appropriate people are engaged to work with children and young people.”

The Oho platform supports over 130 organisations across Australia, completing two million checks a year and thousands of corrective compliance actions.

The full cohort of AO StartUp companies will be announced in the leadup to AO 2025.
