World famous Australian restaurants including Supernormal, Rockpool, Stokehouse, Nomad, Maha, and Farmer’s Daughter are selling extremely well.
There are many other outlets where tennis fans can enjoy the offerings, including at the new Beach Bar.
Sydney’s acclaimed Charcoal Fish, with renowned owner and chef Josh Niland in Melbourne to oversee the operations, has set up in the Beach Bar and is ready to go.
At a special preview of the hospitality offerings at Melbourne Park, Josh said it was an honour to be involved in the tournament.
“I think it’s extraordinary watching the tennis growing up, so to be involved in something so iconic as this is amazing,” he said.
Josh and his team have been busy in Sydney getting set for what will be a huge two weeks of hard work and sales.
“We have been preparing for a while and it’s all coming together,” he said.
“We have over a tonne of fish coming from Sydney, so it’s going to be amazing to get things started.”
The Beach Bar will have DJs perform from a two-storey deck that has been purpose built for the tournament.
Tennis Australia’s Head of Product Growth & Innovation, Fern Barrett, whose team has worked tirelessly to deliver all the food and hospitality at this year’s Open, said she was incredibly proud of everything coming together.
There are more than 25 restaurants on site this year that Fern and her team have spent months developing and curating to a world class standard.
“We live in Melbourne, and we are known around the globe as one of the best food cities, and the Australian Open should be representative of that,” she said from the glamorous new Supernormal restaurant.
“The Australian Open is a global event, and we want to show the best Melbourne and Australia has to offer, and I think we have done that.”
