Inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2010, Inducted into the Australian Tennis Hall of Fame in 2011.

Davidson reached the quarterfinals or better at all four Grand Slams and reached a career-high singles ranking of No.8 in 1967. His best results came in doubles, winning two men’s doubles and 10 mixed doubles Grand Slam titles.

In 1967 the left-hander collected a calendar-year Grand Slam in mixed doubles, winning the Australian title with Lesley Bowrey and then teamed up with American Billie Jean King to win the French, Wimbledon and US titles. It is a feat only achieved by two other players, fellow Australian Tennis Hall of Fame members Margaret Court and Ken Fletcher. Davidson is also remembered as the first player to win a match in the Open Era in 1968.
