Share your ‘ace’ for Australian bushfire relief

  • Tennis Australia

Just like top players who have pledged to donate to Australia’s bushfire relief efforts, you too can fundraise to assist fire-affected communities around the country.

As part of Tennis Australia’s Aces for Bushfire Relief initiative, you can participate in a viral social media campaign designed to encourage anyone, from anywhere, to serve an ‘ace’ and donate to the disaster relief.

Simply film your ace, post it on social media using the hashtag #Aces4BushfireRelief, and donate at redcross.com.au/tennis.

By doing so, you’ll be joining tennis stars such as Nick Kyrgios, Sam Stosur and Alex de Minaur, who will donate funds for every ace they hit throughout Australia’s summer of tennis in January.

Tennis Australia CEO and Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley said he hoped the global tennis community would come together to make a contribution.

“We're in every community in Australia. We're a global sport. We have beautiful people who participate in our sport and really want to make a difference,” Tiley said.

"One way we can do it is by raising as many funds as we possibly can.

“We challenge the community to come out and make their contribution ... to help us here in Australia and help our communities get through these difficult times.

"We've got an unbelievable playing group. They'll all play their part. We're all in this together; it's a team effort.

“It's tennis's team effort to raise as many funds as we possibly can and playing our part in making a difference to those who have been so adversely affected.”
