Channel Nine has announced a stellar line-up of commentary talent for the 2019 Australian Open that will include former world No.1 and seven-time Grand Slam champion John McEnroe.
The American will join Jim Courier and Todd Woodbridge on the team when Nine broadcasts the Australian Open for the first time in January.
In March, Nine Network agreed the biggest deal in the history of Tennis Australia for domestic rights until 2024.
McEnroe is a three-time Wimbledon and four-time US Open champion, who has gone on to become one of the leading tennis broadcasters across the world.
He will spearhead an expert commentary line-up alongside Melbourne Park favourites Courier, a former No.1 and two-time Australian Open champion, and Woodbridge, a 22-time Grand Slam doubles champion.
Joining them in the commentary booth will be Australian stars Jelena Dokic, a former world No.4, Fed Cup captain Alicia Molik, four-time Australian Open quad wheelchair singles champion Dylan Alcott, and former Davis Cup player Sam Groth.
Alcott will spend the second week of the tournament trying to win his fifth consecutive title in Melbourne.
Nine will also cover the Hopman Cup, Brisbane International, Sydney International and Hobart International, plus Australia’s Davis and Fed Cup ties.
