HyperX drops in for Fortnite Summer Smash

HyperX, the gaming division of Kingston Technology, has signed on as the Official Peripherals Partner for the Fortnite Summer Smash at Australian Open 2020 giving Aussie fans the chance to see their favourite Fortnite players in action.      

The Summer Smash will feature a $100,000 Charity Pro-Am Trios event on Saturday as well as the $400,000 Pro Solos tournament on Sunday. Every Fortnite player will be using a set of HyperX peripherals.

Event Organiser Mark Riedy welcomed HyperX to the Fortnite Summer Smash family.

“HyperX are an award-winning brand who has developed gaming products for gamers for the past 15 years and we’re excited to have them as our Official Peripherals Partner for the event.

"Everyone’s favourite Fortnite competitors and creators will be using the Cloud Revolver S, Alloy Origins, Pulsefire Surge and Fury Speed XL as they seek glory in the Pro-Am and Solo competitions.

He also urged fans to get their tickets before it’s too late.
     
“With kids tickets just $10 and $99 weekend passes available for adults, it is filling up fast so make sure you jump online now so you don’t miss out.”

HyperX APAC Marketing Director Susan Yang is excited to be involved in the event.

HyperX will have a booth at the event where the public will have the chance to try out the latest HyperX gear such as the Flight S wireless headset and Alloy Origins keyboard, whilst playing some Fortnite. There will also be the opportunity to win HyperX swag by completing a survey or voting on your favourite players from the Summer Smash. The Fortnite Summer Smash is set to take place on 1-2 February during finals weekend at the Australian Open 2020.

Following the Charity event on Saturday, 90 of the best Fortnite players from Australia and around the world including BenjyFishy, EpikWhale, and World Cup duo winners Nyhrox will descend on Margaret Court Arena on Sunday 2 February to compete for a total $400,000 in prize money in the Solo’s Fortnite event.

AO Summer Smash tickets are available via Ticketmaster and start at just $10 for kids and $54 for adults, which also gives access to the entire AO precinct and the AO Live Stage which will feature Bastille and Ziggy Alberts on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
