Australian Open and Huon Salmon have joined forces to fuel players and fans with healthy food options at one of the world’s biggest sports and entertainment event in January. The new relationship will see Huon Salmon as the official salmon at the Australian Open Festival for 2018.
“It makes sense to collaborate with Huon Salmon, a premium Australian supplier that supports our continued growth for fresh, healthy food offerings at the tennis,” said Enda Cunningham, Tennis Australia’s Head of Onsite Revenue. We’ve worked with Huon over a number of years because of the high quality range of salmon products they produce from their base in Tasmania.
“Whether it’s a takeaway salmon burger from one of our pop up restaurants or a three-course fine dining experience at Nobu, Huon Salmon will be used across a number of restaurants and vendors on-site,” said Mr Cunningham. Frances Bender, Huon Aquaculture Executive Director and Co-Founder said, “I am very pleased that two of my passions, salmon and tennis, are coming together in what is always a fantastic event.
“It’s a very exciting venture to be partnering with Tennis Australia because they align with Huon Salmon’s ethos of promoting healthy lifestyle choices through food and activities. Our family has always watched the tennis because it is something that everyone can enjoy together.’
Patrons will be able to enjoy a variety of Huon Salmon offerings across the Melbourne Park precinct during the two weeks including fine dining options such as world renowned Nobu, a pop-up Japanese-themed Huon Salmon restaurant, and a fun collaboration with Melbourne favourite Hunky Dory in the Australian Open Festival site.
“I have full confidence that the restaurants in the Melbourne Park precinct will do a fantastic job in showcasing Huon Salmon to the world,” concluded Frances Bender.
