History was made at Sunday night’s AO 2026 men’s singles final, as top seed Carlos Alcaraz and world No.4 Novak Djokovic met for the 10th time in an historic clash the world won’t soon forget.
It was Alcaraz who, after a set-down start, reclaimed his confidence against his legendary foe and captured the next three sets with trademark gusto, securing that coveted career Grand Slam by a 2-6 6-2 6-3 7-5 scoreline.
For world No.1 Alcaraz, this was his maiden Australian Open final, and the last piece in the puzzle for him becoming the youngest to complete the career Grand Slam at just 22 years old.
Our gallery tells the story from the moment these two generational greats stepped out onto Rod Laver Arena, to when Alcaraz hoisted the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup.
