The Last Time a South Korean player played a fourth-round match at a slam
2007 - It has been over a decade since a South Korean has graced the fourth round of a Grand Slam, and back at the 2007 US Open it was Hyung-Taik Lee who dazzled his way to the final 16. That year he defeated Guillermo Canas, Dominik Hrbaty and Andy Murray before falling to Russian fourth seed Nikolay Davydenko. Hyeon Chung, 21, will hope to go one better when he takes on Novak Djokovic on Day 8 of the Australian Open.

The Last Time any player from Taiwan made the quarters at a slam
2010 - When you think of Yen-Hsun Lu, Grand Slam quarterfinal does not come to mind, but it’s true. Back at Wimbledon 2010 he made a stunning run that included wins over Florian Mayer and the previous year’s runner up in Andy Roddick, which he won 9-7 in the fifth. His compatriot Su-Wei Hsieh can replicate the feat if she beats Angelique Kerber on Monday.

The Last Time a Hungarian male made the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam
1981 - Marton Fucsovics has a chance to break a drought of almost 37 years when he takes on Roger Federer in the fourth round on Day 8. He could become the first Hungarian male to reach the quarterfinals of a major since Balazs Taroczy at the 1981 French Open. That year the Hungarian would fall to top seed and eventual champions Bjorn Borg in straight sets.

The Last Time a Japanese female reached the quarterfinals of a major
2004 - Naomi Osaka has played superbly at Australian Open 2018 so far and she will be hoping for more brilliance when she takes on world No.1 Simona Halep on Day 8. Should she win, she will become the first Japanese female since Ai Sugiyama at Wimbledon in 2004 to reach the final eight at a slam. That year Sugiyama would fall in three sets to the then 17-year-old Maria Sharapova, who won her maiden Grand Slam crown.

The Last Time Novak Djokovic lost a fourth round match at a Grand Slam
2007 - We have to trek back to the last year that the Australian Open was played on green Rebound Ace courts to find when Djokovic was last beaten in the fourth round of a major. Eleven years ago he was halted by a rampant Roger Federer, who would go on to claim his third Australian Open crown and become the first man in 36 years to win in Melbourne without dropping a set. Since 2007, Djokovic is 38-0 in fourth rounds, and he will look to keep that streak alive against Hyeon Chung on Monday night.

The Last Time an Austrian male reached the quarterfinals in Melbourne
2002 - You would be forgiven if you thought the last Austrian male to reach the Australian Open quarterfinals was Thomas Muster or Jurgen Melzer, but you would be wrong. It was in fact Stefan Koubek back in 2002. Koubek would make a stunning run before being soundly defeated by Czech Jiri Novak in the final eight. The Austrian would never reach another Grand Slam fourth round after that display. World No.5 Dominic Thiem has a chance to end the 15-year wait in Melbourne when he faces Tennys Sangdren on Day 8.

The Last Time Berdych and Fognini met in a Grand Slam match
2011 - The Czech and the Italian have met four times on tour, but only one of them at a Grand Slam, back in the second round of the 2011 US Open. Berdych would take that encounter 7-5 6-0 6-0 before retiring with an injury against Janko Tipsarevic in his next match. Fognini will be out for revenge on Day 8 as he looks to reach his first Grand Slam quarterfinal since Roland Garros in 2011.

The Last Time and Australian duo won the mixed doubles at a Grand Slam
2013 - It has been five years since an Australian pair has lifted the mixed doubles trophy at a major, with that honour going to Matthew Ebden and Jarmila Wolfe, who was playing under her maiden name of Gajdosova. The pair defeated the all Czech team of Lucie Hradecka and Frantisek Cermak in straight sets to lift the crown. There are still three all Australian pairs left in the mixed doubles draw at the Australian Open, can one of them lift the trophy?
