Cilic brushes past Edmund in three

Eight years after first contesting an Australian Open semifinal, Marin Cilic returns to the final four and makes it count this time, beating surprise-package Kyle Edmund 6-2 7-6 6-2 to reach his third Grand Slam final.

He is the first Croatian - man or woman - to reach the title match in Melbourne and he isn’t only celebrating a final berth. That win also puts him up to a career-high ranking of No.3 in the world.

He awaits the winner of Roger Federer and Hyeon Chung.
