Australia’s men’s singles hope Alex de Minaur will look to get his Melbourne Park campaign off to a winning start on Day 2 of Australian Open 2026 at Rod Laver Arena, with the No.6 seed to meet Italian Matteo Berrettini as the headline act of Monday’s afternoon session.
The De Minaur/Berrettini clash follows women’s third seed Coco Gauff getting her tournament underway against Kamilla Rakhimova of Uzbekistan, while Monday’s RLA night session features women’s second seed Iga Swiatek and 10-time Melbourne Park champion and men’s fourth seed, Novak Djokovic.
Monday’s Margaret Court Arena schedule features three-time AO finalist and men’s 11th seed Daniil Medvedev and American women’s fourth seed Amanda Anisimova in the day session, while Mirra Andreeva, the women’s eighth seed, kicks off the night session against Donna Vekic.
Local hopes will be high for the John Cain Arena night session with Ajla Tomljanovic and Alexei Popyrin starting their tournaments against Ukrainian qualifier Yuliia Starodubtseva and Frenchman Alexandre Muller respectively, while the JCA day session features men's seventh seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and three-time AO quarterfinalist Jessica Pegula, the women’s sixth seed.
