The works of Marrickville-based precious metal artisans ABC Bullion will take pride of place in the trophy cabinets of both the Australian Open and ATP Cup champions.

As the official precious metals partner of the AO and ATP Cup for 2022, ABC Bullion handcrafted this year’s full suite of trophies including the full-size replicas of the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup and the Norman Brooks Challenge Cup taken home by Ash Barty, the women’s singles champion and Rafael Nadal, the men’s singles champions.

Team Canada took home the ATP Cup champion trophy and Team Spain took home the runners-up plate.

ABC Bullion also created the doubles, wheelchair, junior and legends trophies, runners-up trophies, commemorative plates for finals umpires, all using precious metals sourced from Mount Rawdon, Queensland.

“As the symbol of ultimate success at the ATP Cup and Australian Open, the crafting of the beautiful trophies has to be entrusted to the best of the best,” Tennis Australian Chief Commercial Officer Cedric Cornelis said.

“We are delighted to partner with ABC Bullion whose master craftsmen and use of precious metals deliver trophies of the highest quality across both the ATP Cup and Australian Open.”

“ABC Bullion and its parent, Pallion, are delighted to be appointed as the first ‘Official Precious Metals Partner’ of the Australian Open,” Pallion CEO Andrew Cochineas said.

“We see true synergy between one of the world’s premier precious metals brands and one of the world’s premier sporting events and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership.”

ABC Bullion used silver from the same location to create a limited-edition unisex AO x ABC Bullion Bracelet which was also available from the AO Shop.

“We are excited to be able to present trophies hand made in Australia with locally sourced precious metals to this year’s Australian Open champions.”
