Twelve companies pioneering new player, fan and event technologies today joined the innovative AO StartUps program, making it the largest intake since the program’s inception.
The new cohort – LILA, Back Sync, Electrokare, New Stream, Grandstand, Oho, INTIX, Foodini, Scala Sports, Lumi, Volta and exar.live – joined the program following a global search and will help drive continuous improvement in the products, services and experiences available to AO players and fans.
“Our 2025 portfolio is arguably the strongest yet with a broad range of companies that are helping us drive innovation across all facets of our business,” said Tennis Australia Director of Innovation Dr Machar Reid.
“The companies include new solutions to drive efficiencies in our event including digital ticketing, automated screening checks, production project management and AI powered personalised menus for anyone with dietary needs.
“We are also exploring new Flex leagues to increase tennis participation, driving fan interactivity with audience engagement software and pushing the boundaries in performance analysis by harnessing 3D skeletal data in a spatial computing environment.
“For our playing cohort we are offering unique access to technologies that have immense potential to drive gains in their performance such as micro-load wearable resistance garments, active mobility therapy devices and personalised electrolyte insights to aid hydration and recovery.
“Additionally we are exploring how AI technologies can help drive efficiencies in a player’s experience such as streamlining biomechanical analysis assessments and using an AI-powered studio to grow their social media presence.”
