Alex de Minaur will battle Andrey Rublev in the feature night match at Rod Laver Arena on Day 8 of Australian Open 2024.

The AO 2024 Day 8 schedule of play has been released, and it’s headlined by a blockbuster night match between Alex de Minaur and Andrey Rublev.

De Minaur, Australia’s No.1 player, will take on the fifth-seeded Rublev under lights at Rod Laver Arena, seeking a place in his first Australian Open quarterfinal.

Rublev reached the quarterfinals at Melbourne Park last year, as well as in 2021.

Earlier in the day, Coco Gauff opens the RLA order of play against Pole Magdalena Frech; like De Minaur, she is also targeting a first AO quarterfinal.

Following Gauff-Frech is the fourth-round match between defending champion Novak Djokovic and Adrian Mannarino.

Victory would give Djokovic a 32nd straight match win at the Australian Open, just one shy of Monica Seles’ Melbourne Park record of 33 consecutive AO wins.

Elsewhere, the women’s blockbuster between defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and resurgent Amanda Anisimova headlines the MCA schedule, before in-form Jannik Sinner battles last year’s AO semifinalist Karen Khachanov.

John Cain Arena is sure to be rocking for the fifth edition of ‘Fritzipas’ – Taylor Fritz versus Stefanos Tsitsipas – which will be a rematch of their five-set thriller at AO 2022.

Following them onto court will be teen phenom Mirra Andreeva, who will aim for a third straight victory over No.9 seed Barbora Krejcikova, the 2021 Roland Garros champion.

Marta Kostyuk and Maria Timofeeva take to Kia Arena for their fourth-round match, both seeking a first major quarterfinal.
