A blockbuster clash between women's world No.1 Iga Swiatek and Australian Open 2022 finalist Danielle Collins headlines Day 5 action on Thursday at Melbourne Park.

MORE: Day 5 schedule of play

Swiatek, winner of her past 17 matches, faces a stern test for the second round running after beating AO 2020 champion Sofia Kenin on Tuesday. Collins set up Thursday's intriguing clash by ousting another Melbourne Park champion, Angelique Kerber, in three sets in round one.

The Swiatek/Collins clash opens the day session at Rod Laver Arena, with that match-up followed by men's second seed Carlos Alcaraz taking on Italian Lorenzo Sonego.

The RLA night session features the women's and men's third seeds, with AO 2023 runner-up Elena Rybakina facing Anna Blinkova, while two-time Melbourne finalist Daniil Medvedev meets Finland's Emil Ruusuvuori.

At Margaret Court Arena, men's 11th seed Casper Ruud meets Australia's Max Purcell to open the day session, while women's fifth seed Jessica Pegula, men's eighth seed Holger Rune and two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka play their second-round matches at MCA.

John Cain Arena features two mouth-watering match-ups, with men's 13th seed Grigor Dimitrov meeting Australia's Thanasi Kokkinakis before compatriot Ajla Tomljanovic faces 11th seed Jelena Ostapenko.
