Australian Open 2025 is set for 12-26 January at Melbourne Park, offering fans 15 days of thrilling Grand Slam tennis.

For the second straight year, main-draw action will begin on a Sunday, a change to the tournament’s schedule which fans have enthusiastically embraced.

The Australian Open’s first-ever Sunday start in 2024, on 14 January, attracted a total of 87,705 spectators. Almost 60,000 of those attended during the day session.

This created a crackling atmosphere at Melbourne Park on the tournament’s opening day and set the tone for what followed.

More than 1 million fans came through the gates at Melbourne Park in January, in what was record-breaking attendance at Australian Open 2024.

Ultimately, more than 1 million fans attended AO 2024 across the 15 days of the main draw – a Grand Slam record – which was almost 200,000 more than during AO 2023.

This number rose above 1.1 million when counting the fans who attended AO Opening Week, which featured the qualifying competition plus exhibition matches, open practice sessions and Kids Tennis Day.

RECORD-BREAKER: AO 2024 by the numbers

AO Opening Week for 2025 will begin Monday 6 January.

Tickets for Australian Open 2025 are scheduled to go on sale in October.
