The Australian Open has collaborated with UK publisher OPUS to create the largest book ever published on tennis.

Celebrating the greatest moments from the tournament’s history, bespoke copies of the 750-page Australian Open marquee edition were presented to 2024 champions Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka after their victories at Melbourne Park.

The pictorial-based Australian Open Opus relives 80 unforgettable moments from the tournament and features stunning photography of past and present champions, many of whom signed a luxurious leather-bound limited edition that will be auctioned for charity.

Designed in England, the Australian Open Opus measures 45cm x 45cm square, weighs 32 kilos, and is printed on heavyweight 200 gsm silk paper. It brings to life the greatest moments in the Open era through breathtaking photography, insightful interviews, and unprecedented photo essays that give a new perspective into the most well-attended Grand Slam tournament in tennis history.

“This is a magnificent body of work never attempted before in the history of tennis,” said Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley. “It is a stunning portrayal of the Australian Open filled with memorable moments and celebrating great AO champions.”

The marquee Opus is hand-bound by master craftsmen and covered in luxurious blue leather in-spired by the tournament’s unmistakable blue courts. A 5mm thick chrome-plated AO logo elegantly adorns the cover of the Opus and is complemented by silver foil lettering on the spine and gloss mirror-finish gilding on the edges of the page.

The Australian Open Opus is housed in a hand-crafted presentation case, depicting a stunning aerial photograph of the Melbourne skyline and Rod Laver Arena at sunset.

The book will be available in two sizes: the larger ‘Marquee’ edition and a smaller, 400-page ‘Classic’ format.

“We hope that people from all over the world, particularly younger fans, are excited and inspired to see such great moments from such a special Grand Slam tournament presented and captured in this way,” said Karl Fowler, CEO OPUS.

OPUS has developed a diverse range of giant-sized collections with celebrities, sportspeople and brands including Formula 1, Ferrari, Prince, Maradona, Pele, the Superbowl and Major League Baseball.

The book will be available for purchase at a later date. For more information visit: https://www.thisisopus.com/
