Australian Open and beIN SPORTS expand relationship to South East Asia

Tennis Australia and beIN SPORTS have announced an expansion of their long-term broadcast partnership in a five-year deal that will see beIN SPORTS bring the fun and excitement of the Australian Open and its lead in events to more viewers across South East Asia than ever before.

Already a long-standing official broadcast partner of the AO in the Middle East and Northern Africa, the partnership, that starts with this week’s Adelaide International, will cover ten additional territories in South East Asia including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Viewers will be able to watch more than 14 hours of live tennis a day on beIN’s linear television sports channels and, for the first time in Asia, all AO main draw matches across 16 courts will be live streamed via its official direct-to-consumer service, beIN SPORTS CONNECT.

“As the Grand Slam of Asia-Pacific, we are delighted to extend our agreement with beIN SPORTS to cover South East Asia, after years of successful collaboration with them in the Middle East and Northern Africa,” said Australian Open Tournament Director Craig Tiley.

“Our Asian fans treat the Australian Open as their ‘home’ Slam and so it’s fantastic that with beIN SPORTS’s innovation and commitment they will now be able to enjoy every main draw match from the AO live across every court here at Melbourne Park.”

With the new agreement, beIN SPORTS viewers will also be able to follow other AO Events including the AO Qualifying Tournament, AO Junior Championships, AO Wheelchair Championships, AO Legends, AO Australian and Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-offs and the lead in Adelaide International ATP 250 tournament.

“We’re delighted to have acquired the rights to the Australian Open and the Adelaide ATP 250 from 2022-2026 across our footprint in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Mike Kerr, Managing Director of beIN ASIA PACIFIC.

“Tennis is a sport loved across Asia, and we are committed to delivering a strong tennis offering in this region. Our viewers can look forward to unparalleled access to the matches, off-court moments, player stories, and more across all screens. We look forward to working alongside Tennis Australia to bring in new audiences and increase fan engagement like never before.”
