Ons Jabeur is looking to become the first Arab – man or woman – in the Open Era to reach a Grand Slam semifinal, and the first Tunisian in history to achieve that feat.

Sofia Kenin is hoping to make her Grand Slam semifinal debut on her 12th main draw appearance at the majors.  

Ashleigh Barty is looking to become the first Australian woman to reach the semifinals of the Australian Open since Wendy Turnbull achieved that feat 36 years ago, in 1984 when the tournament was played at Kooyong. No Australian woman has achieved the feat since the tournament moved to Melbourne Park, in 1988. Barty is also bidding for the 150th career main draw win and 100th career win on hard courts.

Petra Kvitova is bidding to reach the semifinal of a Grand Slam for the seventh time in her career.

Simona Halep is targeting an eighth career Grand Slam semifinal, and second at Melbourne Park. 

Anett Kontaveit is the first Estonian woman to reach the Australian Open quarterfinals, and is looking to become the first Estonian woman to make a Grand Slam semifinal. 

Garbine Muguruza is bidding to reach her fifth career Grand Slam semifinal, and first at the Australian Open. This is the furthest she has gone at Melbourne Park since 2017.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is looking to make her first Grand Slam semifinal, in her sixth quarterfinal appearance.
