  • Tennis Australia

Australian natural gas supplier Santos has joined the Australian Open and ATP Cup family as Official Natural Gas Partner in a new multi-year partnership.

Based in South Australia, Santos is a leading supplier of natural gas, a clean, affordable fuel that is powering Australian industries and households and improving air quality and living standards in Asia.

Committed to being part of the solution to a lower-carbon future and with the aim of being a world-leading clean fuels company, Santos has set an ambitious target of net-zero emissions by 2040.

“Santos is a proudly Australian company with a focus on innovation and excellence, values we share here at Tennis, and a tremendous platform on which to base this new partnership,” Tennis Australia Chief Revenue and Experiential Officer Ben Slack said.

The Summer of Tennis events will provide a platform for Santos to showcase how natural gas is used in everyday life. Connecting with tennis at a grassroots level is also a priority, Tennis Australia and Santos will work together to deliver a range of tennis activities in regional and Indigenous communities.

Santos Managing Director and CEO, Kevin Gallagher said the organisation is committed to partnerships that make a positive contribution, with a focus on regional and Indigenous communities.

“Events like the Australian Open, ATP Cup and grassroots programs bring communities together, promote healthy living through sport and create economic opportunities for our communities,” Mr Gallagher said.

“The Australian Open is even more important in 2021 as our economy recovers from the coronavirus pandemic. It is an international event beamed to our trading partners all around the world and maintaining these connections and relationships will be vital to Australia’s economic recovery.”

Partner benefits include on-court signage at the ATP Cup and Australian Open.
